While Williamsport is most famous as the home of Little League World Headquarters and the annual Little League World Championship games that are held over a two-week period each August, there are other sporting events or venues to enjoy as well.

See Williamsport’s own minor league baseball team, the Williamsport Crosscutters, a class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Throughout the summer you can find the Crosscutters playing at Historic Bowman field, the second oldest minor league ballpark in America.

If you’re more interested in getting some personal activity rather than just watching, the YMCA’s Pickelner Arena is a 36,000 square feet arena with a roller rink, and a track for walking or running. Enjoy roller and in-line skating, soccer and hockey leagues, and other fun events.

Created in 1939, Little League was the first organized children’s sport. Today over 2.5 million kids play Little League baseball making it the largest organized youth sport in the world. Williamsport is still home to the original field where the first World Series was played. You can visit the current sight of the World Series at Lamade Stadium in South Williamsport. Every August 16 teams from around the globe battle for the title of World champions. The Little League Museum is located near the stadium.
